Sugar can sneak its way onto our dinner plate in foods we wouldn’t suspect, particularly salad dressing. Instead of buying packaged salad dressing, try making your own! Prepare a batch at the beginning of the week and leave it in the fridge at home and work so you can easily access it. Here is my favorite homemade salad dressing recipe – it’s packed with flavor so you won’t even miss the sugar!
Olive oil – 1/2 cup
Apple cider vinegar – 1/2 cup
Organic dried basil, oregano, thyme, and rosemary – 2 teaspoons each
Himalayan or Celtic salt – to taste
Fresh ground pepper – to taste [optional]
Mix all ingredients together and serve. Store in fridge for up to 5 days.
Olive oil contains monounsaturated fats, which have been studied for heart health, cancer prevention, lowering blood pressure, and reducing inflammation. Apple cider vinegar helps digestion. Himalayan or Celtic salt helps to supply our bodies with over 50 minerals. And mixed organic dried herbs add delicious flavors.
